A bit about Michael......

I started playing the blues...until I saw Martin Simpson play...

I've been song-writing for fifteen or more years, telling stories.  Most of my material is based on true stories, for the main part stories about how we live now.   Some say 'folk music' tells the stories of 'ordinary folk'.  I disagree.  Everyone is extraordinary and has extraordinary stories worth listening to and worth telling.

I've played at most of the folk clubs around Warwickshire, though don't perform so often nowadays, unless it's for a charity event.

My most recent work is the cycle of songs, poetry and narration - from this ground, ( see above). The stories are timeless, highlighting all the issues found in contemporary migration narratives.

Previous song cycles include 'Calling them home' - set of songs and poems commemorating the centenary of armistice (poems again by Olga); and 'back to the land' a song cycle about rural artefacts on display in Leamington Museum and performed in the museum amongst the display cases in.
